The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service. The benefit provides up to $30/month discount for internet service, up to $75/month discount for households on qualifying Tribal lands, and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider. Potential candidates who are considering running for the Issaquah School Board this November are invited to a workshop designed to share information about serving on the board. The workshop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24 at the Administration Building, 5150 220th Ave. S.E., Issaquah. Three of the board's five director positions are up for election this fall.
High school students who are interested in serving as Student Representatives to the School Board are invited to apply by April 6. The student representatives serve in non-voting, volunteer roles designed to share student voice with the board and district administrators throughout the school year.
Last week the School Board discussed the draft Strategic Plan, vision statement and priority goal areas included in the plan. The work will continue, and will be brought back to the board at future meetings.
At the March 23 School Board meeting, Chief of Finance and Operations Martin Turney gave a brief budget update to the board members about kindergarten enrollment numbers, the Senate and House budget proposals and other topics that impact our budget.
